Today we explored some more of the tributaries of the Amazon by skiff. There is always something new to see and look for in the vast region.

We visited during the morning the oxbow lake of Clavero. Formerly Clavero was the main river, meandering down towards the ocean like a serpent through the extensive alluvial flat plains, but over the years with the seasons, the eroding action of the ups and downs of the water (specially the ups) carved and cut through, leaving behind a lake that will fill up with sediment in the years to come.
