Our last day in Panama couldn’t have started in a better way. The visit to Granito de Oro was one of the most anticipated stops in our expedition. Beautiful white sand beach, pristine warm waters and a nice breeze invited all of us to spend a wonderful morning there.

Once at the island, we all had the opportunity to enjoy the snorkel and kayaking activities. Parrot fish, white tip reef sharks, and sea turtles were part of the highlights of the day, and for the most active guests a bit of kayaking made the morning a perfect one.

The day continues and as a very active group we all got very hungry, and to our surprise a delicious lunch was being served at the ranger’s station. After lunch different walks were offered to our guests: bird watching, photography-oriented or just a walk with natural history interpretation. This gave everyone a chance to join their preferred group.

The abundance of birds such as the crimson-backed tanager amazed all of us with their colors, however “Tito” the 11 feet long American crocodile was the main attraction. He pleased all of the nature lovers and of course the photographers that had joined us on this photo expedition onboard the National Geographic Sea Lion.
