Today was a day dedicated to polar bear spotting. We were in a body of water that held promise.  

Glacier Fjord is located between the southern and northern coasts of Ellesmere and Devon Island, respectively. After a slow start we approached a ribbon of ice and set our sights on a bear that appeared to be on a kill. The next two hours unfolded as if out of a movie and dominated our conversations long after the dust settled and we steamed north for the northern reaches of our voyage and into the land of large icebergs…
