It was a temperate-rain forest kind of day in Desolation Sound, full of misty skies and liquid sunshine. Today we explored Desolation Sound, the largest marine park in British Columbia at 6,350 acres of land and sea. This area is characterized by spectacular fjords, glacially eroded mountains, and a coastal rainforest adapted to a wet and mild climate. Despite its name, the sound is a popular destination for cruisers in the summer months, sometimes packed with hundreds of vessels exploring the many coastlines and islands.
