An overcast and stormy morning greeted National Geographic Resolution as it churned through the waters of the Drake Passage. As petrels and black-browed albatrosses (Thalassarche melanophris) swooped around the ship, we made our way through the waves and the Antarctic winds. After a late breakfast, guests attended lectures on current scientific projects in Antarctica and the seals of Antarctica. The Global Explorers showed footage they collected while driving the ROV. A wine tasting and empanadas were provided for guests in Tupaia while National Geographic Resolution tucked into the Beagle Channel. The evening recap took the form of a guest slideshow followed by the Captain’s Cocktail Party. Finally, dinner was served in Two Seven Zero. Slowly, the final day of an amazing trip came to an end as guests ate a wonderful meal and engaged in passionate conversations before heading to their rooms to pack.
