Today, we embarked on a stunning journey through Endicott Arm, navigating its serene waters surrounded by towering, snow-capped peaks. The highlight of the morning was reaching Dawes Glacier, a magnificent sight with its immense, blue-tinged ice face. We witnessed several dramatic calving events as chunks of ice thunderously broke away and splashed into the fjord, creating ripples that rocked our boat. The pristine beauty and sheer scale of the glacier left everyone in awe.

Our adventure continued with an unforgettable wildlife encounter. In the early afternoon, we spotted a pod of orcas gracefully slicing through the water, their dorsal fins gleaming in the sunlight. Shortly after, we were thrilled to see approximately eight humpback whales. These majestic creatures put on a spectacular display, breaching and slapping their tails on the water. The sight of these magnificent marine mammals in their natural habitat was a profound and humbling experience.

Today’s exploration offered a perfect blend of breathtaking glacial scenery and extraordinary wildlife encounters, making it a truly memorable day aboard National Geographic Sea Bird.
