Today, we spent our day visiting the breeding territory of migratory gray whales, at the northern end of Magdalena Bay. This area is known as the estuary of Puerto Adolfo López Mateos and mothers use the interior of this channel to stay protected and raise their newborn calves. All kinds of behaviors were seen today—spy hopping, breaching, courtship, and some singular noises produced by a cow and calf pair of whales.
