Today was all about the Zodiacs. In the morning, we reached the rarely visited Fournier Bay, located on the northeast coast of Anvers Island. At first there was a light fog in the bay, but it gradually cleared up later.
The entire bay was covered in ice. Luckily for us, the small Zodiacs were effective icebreakers, offering a spectacular experience that you don't have every day in the Antarctic. We were accompanied by a humpback whale most of the time. At the end, we spotted a leopard seal on an ice floe.
In the afternoon, we continued to the Melchior Islands. There we visited a former Argentinian research station that was abandoned many years ago. We cruised among the many small islands and enjoyed fantastic angles of the many glaciers and icebergs floating in the water.
