Española Island

The whole day has represented a golden finale for a fantastic expedition aboard the Islander around the Galápagos Islands. In the week that comes to an end today we had a magical combination of factors that made this trip a highly successful one. To begin with, a great group of happy visitors that were curious, active, interested and enthusiastic. Wonderful wildlife sightings that ranged from inquisitive sea lions and dancing boobies to cheerful dolphins and enigmatic iguanas. Extraordinary landscapes and, almost perfect weather conditions for exploring the seas while snorkelling.

Despite all the infinite number of unforgettable details and memories that a successful trip to the Galápagos can evoke, one in particular is very special. It is the hard-to-explain feeling that appears while having the privilege to be at an unusually close range from animals. The astonishing ecological naïveté of the animal inhabitants of this exceptional group of islands is extraordinary. The latter fact makes us realize how important simple things in life are, and at the same time makes us feel better as human beings. Irreplaceable situations like the one represented in the picture of today will be in our minds and hearts forever.
