North Seymour and Rabida Islands

We haven’t stopped today; from hiking to snorkeling, we have done it all at these two unique islands in the Galápagos. We had a gorgeous sunny day all along, with calm blue seas, and a cool, agreable breeze coming from the south. Sea lions were the stars morning and afternoon, while flying high above us were frigates and boobies.

At North Seymour we were lucky enough to spot several marine and land iguanas, and at Rabida, we had a close encounter with the top predator of Galápagos, the Galápagos hawk, an impressive bird of prey that passively observed our steps along the reddish trail of this island.

We are in the Enchanted Archipelago, at a World Natural Heritage Site, made famous by Charles Darwin and by its active volcanoes, where species from different hemispheres can be found together, at the equator. This is Galápagos, and we have arrived to absorb it all, to be inmersed in its beauty, to become its ambassadors to the world.
