The Polaris is back in Galapagos!! And we are all happy to be here, too. It is great to see the sparkle in these islands again; they are just as we left them! Today’s visit was to Floreana Island. We started the day with a visit to the famous Post Office Bay and then had an incredible snorkel outing in the crystal clear waters off Champion Islet where the beauty of the surroundings was only surpassed by the diversity of marine life. The glass bottom boat was lowered so that those who didn’t want to snorkel could also enjoy the underwater environment.
A morning full of activities was topped off by our traditional Ecuadorian lunch, where a huge variety of Ecuadorian food was displayed and served; siesta time was mandatory after that!
A relaxing afternoon hike and following a trail full of native and endemic vegetation made the perfect end to a perfect day. We are ready for a new one.....…
