The second day of our voyage was a busy one! We started early in the day to watch waved albatrosses from the ship. We than had a long walk on a rocky trail where we saw boobies, lava lizards, marine iguanas, sea lions, mockingbirds and hawks.

Because of our busy morning, we concentrated on water activities during the afternoon. Glass-bottom boat outings, deep-water snorkeling and swimming from the beach were our highlights. Some who wanted to take it a bit easy went to the beach.

Gardner Bay has one of the most beautiful beaches in the Galapagos. During this visit our guests had an opportunity to relax and enjoy an open area. Though these islands are well known for their volcanic origin, this beach is mostly composed of organic material, giving us a sense of purity and peace.
