Midnight and a green curtain was drawn across the sky. Undulating folds, not of velvet but of some gossamer fabric that seemed to ripple with the faintest breath of air. Light from a prism moved among the gathers that were drawn into folds and bows. Aurora borealis and a meteor shower sent us to rest.

Water was the medium for the day: humpback whales with cascades of diamonds dripping off their flukes; rotating sea otters with fidgeting fingers and toes preaning as they drifted on their backs; humpback salmon (pinks) battling the current of a cold clear stream as they rushed to procreate before death claimed each cell; kayaks carrying explorers silently across charcoal mirror seas.
