The steep cliffs of the Palouse River (Doulliard's River of Lewis and Clark time) was the backdrop for the morning's activities. Guests opted to kayak in solitude on the waters of the Palouse Bay, or take a Zodiac excursion and a ride to Palouse Falls. The area is a incredible example of the great Bretz Floods of 12,000 to 15,000 years ago. After a leisurely afternoon cruising the Snake River, one of our naturalists, Michelle Harris, spoke of the Columbia River salmon and the problems besetting the salmon of the Pacific Northwest.
