This morning there was an opportunity to go for a Zodiac ride up the Palouse River, to see the plants and animals of this imposing area. Then we took a short ride to the Palouse Falls State Park. The falls and the surrounding area are in the heart of the channeled scabland part of eastern Washington.

After returning to the ship for a barbecue lunch we continued down the Snake River towards the Columbia. During the afternoon, Clay Jenkinson, wearing buckskins, gave us a performance as Meriwether Lewis. It gave us real insight into the mind of the explorer. The rest of the afternoon was spent traveling towards the confluence of the Snake and Columbia Rivers.
