Today we split up into two groups. One headed to the Columbia River Discovery Center, while the other went to Parkdale to ride the Hood River train down to the town of Hood River, which is along the Columbia.

The two groups met up in Hood River, where we all boarded the ship for the trip through the gorge, which included the last lock movement of the trip at Bonneville Dam.

There was a wine tasting before recap, followed by dinner. After dinner the third president of the United States, Thomas Jefferson, miraculously appeared in the lounge. He had a press conference to explain his administration and his personal motivations for the Lewis and Clark expedition. It was of course Clay Jenkinson, performing the same part for us that he had the honor of doing for President Clinton in 1994.
