We spent the morning crusing up the Columbia River. After lunch, the ship stopped at the small town of Umatilla. We then went to the McNary wildlife refuge and took short walks around the dam facility and then the wetland areas created by the Corps of Engineers.

After leaving the dock, the ship went into the McNary Lock and was lifted from Lake Umatilla to Lake Wallula. The picture is of the spillway gates that make up the center of the dam structure.
