After leaving the islands of Fiji in her wake, National Geographic Orion now ventures into the French overseas collectivity of Wallis and Futuna. Just after breakfast our group landed on Vele Beach in the town of Poi on the island of Futuna. Local musicians welcomed us ashore as we boarded local transports for our morning explorations of this very remote island.

Our afternoon was filled with water activities on Alofi Island, as we took full advantage of sunny skies and calm seas to enjoy the water in every possible way! Some chose to snorkel over these pristine reefs. Others chose to enjoy the underwater view while comfortably sitting in the glass bottom Zodiac. Still others chose to kayak or use the standup paddleboards to view the stunning reef here from water level.
