Visiting Genovesa provides explorers with a strange and fascinating experience. The scenery is surreal, with lava fields covered with mangroves, cacti and thousands of birds, making Genovesa one of the most astonishing landscapes in the Galapagos. Today we explored Darwin Bay and Prince Philip’s Steps, two famous sites that are among the world’s top destinations for wildlife photographers and birders. The National Geographic Islander is one of the few operations that have authorization to visit this unique and fragile place.
