Today we woke in Darwin's Bay on Genovesa Island. This island is a collapsed volcano and is the northernmost island we are visiting during this trip. Our morning started with a natural history walk at Prince Phillip`s Steps in search for the short eared owl that inhabits this area of the island, hunting for storm petrels. During this walk we also observed the fur seal, the second species of sea lion that we found on this trip, and the red footed boobies -- the third species of booby that we have seen. After this walk, we had the chance to kayak, paddleboard and snorkel along the shore of Darwin´s Bay.
In the afternoon we visited Darwin´s Bay Beach, where we observed different species of sea birds living in close proximity to each other, such as frigate birds, red and Nazca boobies and swallow tail gulls. We finished the day with a farewell cocktail with Captain Pablo Garcés to close an amazing week in the Galapagos Islands.
