National Geographic Sea Bird embarked National Park Service Ranger and naturalist Erica and cultural specialist Mary early this morning at Bartlett Cove. They spent the day relating the remarkable story of “The Bay in Place of the Glacier.” We experienced grand vistas, wildlife (puffins, sea otters, mountain goats, brown bears, and a swimming moose!), and a calving tidewater glacier.

After dinner, we went ashore to park headquarters to walk the trails and visit the lodge. Also of interest is a tribal house and humpback whale skeleton.
