The “Circle of Life” was in motion today. We embarked on a Zodiac cruise around Gourdin Island, witnessing firsthand the hunting and feeding habits of leopard seals preying on gentoo and chinstrap penguins. It truly felt like a safari experience. Later in the afternoon, we set foot on Antarctica, the seventh continent, at Brown Bluff, a stunning location on the northern part of the peninsula surrounded by glaciers and featuring a magnificent tuya volcano. Gentoo penguins roamed the area freely with their chicks now large enough to explore, while the Adelie penguin colony was deserted. They have completed their breeding season and returned to the sea. It was a truly remarkable day on our Antarctic expedition!
