We enjoyed a beautiful and quiet morning at Halleck Harbor with warm coffee and conversations on the bow. Cloud coverage, low fog, and light rain brought a very Alaskan start to the day. We were excited for the day’s activities, which included a bushwalk, moderate hike, or casual hike, as well as options for kayaking and standup paddleboarding. All options led to a low tide beach combing where we found lots of wildlife and unique finds.

Our afternoon was spent cruising for wildlife. There were lots of busy binoculars and eager eyes watching the waters for anything that might present itself. Karson and Ellie provided presentations in the afternoon and evening. Karson educated the group on humpback whales in Southeast Alaska, and Ellie talked of the diversity of intertidal zones.
