The coming of dawn finds National Geographic Sea Lion in the Beehive, a picturesque cove where we spent the night. Early morning is our time to pass through Sergius Narrows and Peril Strait on the slack tide. The passage culminates with the sight of a humpback whale lunge-feeding in the Morris Reef vicinity. What a great start to our day and trip.

Lake Eva is our afternoon destination. The sparkling tidewater lagoons are magical for kayaking, and the deep old growth forest provides shade on this unseasonably warm and sunny day.
