There wasn’t a breath of wind in Inverie this morning, and we woke up to a peaceful and still landscape that called out to us to come and explore. Some of us went for a longer walk and enjoyed spectacular views of the Knoydart Peninsula from the hills, while the rest of us explored the coastline and beaches.
Later in the morning, we set sail for Mull across a serene sea. The Inner Hebrides were looking spectacular as we cruised along the Ardnamurchan Peninsula, and when we sat down for lunch, two minke whales appeared near the starboard side of the ship. We all gathered excitedly on the deck to watch in awe as these magnificent mammals glided past, their dorsal fins cutting through the water before us.
Once we arrived in Mull, guests chose between spending some time in town at the shops, going for a hike to Tobermory Lighthouse, or going to Tobermory whisky distillery. Some eager guests managed to do all three options. Regardless of the activity we chose, we were all utterly charmed by the colourful town of Tobermory and its cheerful waterfront.
After dinner, we heard a talk from our conservation partners at the Hebridean Whale and Dolphin Trust; it was a fitting way to round off our day of whale watching!
