The first day of our voyage was full of sunny skies and memorable experiences. We began with a trip to Culloden Battlefield, where we learned the context of this conflict on a guided tour. This was followed by a stop at Clava Cairns, a mysterious archaeological site with ancient tombs and standing stones.
We rejoined the ship in Dochgarroch, then sailed onward, taking in beautiful scenery on all sides.
In the afternoon, we arrived at Fort Augustus. We gathered on deck to take photos as we ascended the town’s set of locks. After we docked, we went ashore for various hikes and walks. Some of us explored the town and others journeyed further into the flower-filled fields and forested hills.
Tomorrow, we will continue our journey and hope that the magnificent weather continues!
