Our last day of exploration in the Upper Amazon of Peru, and one more day to remember. Our day has started with a hike along the Iracahua trail, a magical place full of flora and fauna just ready to be discovered, our naturalist made from this a learning experience by sharing with us all their vast knowledge.
Tropical plants, amazing trees, gorgeous butterflies and the songs of colorful birds remind us that we were at the mighty Amazon jungle, a privilege to all us I must say.
But the day wasn’t over yet and the afternoon has some more surprises awaiting for us. One by one, the skiff left the Delfin II to go on an exploration of the Yarapa River. Our naturalist started to spot wildlife right away, more birds including a Kingfisher that was named after this unique place, the Amazon kingfisher.
As we all continued getting deeper and deeper into this river more and more birds started to show up literally posing right in front of us. Butterflies gliding along the river like trying to say goodbye to all of us.
Finally the time to return to our ship has arrived and the dusk started to happen, letting us to enjoy another marvelous sunset, one of those we are getting use to enjoy everyday at the end of our daily journeys here at the Amazon River.
