Our last full day was spent in a marvelous part of the Pacaya Samiria National Reserve. Iricahua Creek is an amazing greenery and flooded forest full of song birds. on the other hand, Flor De Castaña is the opposite, it is a dry forest home to parakeets, wood peckers and night hawks. A lush forest is the source of food for the wildlife and a dry forest is the place where the birds finds nesting sites.
In the morning we started with some stretching before breakfast. It was loved by all the participants! Then, we went for breakfast and at 8:00 we disembarked to explore the forest. There are very tall trees that are home to monkeys and hawks. There were also toucans and parrots perching on the fruiting trees looking for their early meals.
In the afternoon we were received by the rain! This whole has been memorable regarding weather and we’ve been able to explore every place with no rain. Today we learnt why it is called the rainforest and why it is green all year round. With a little bit of rain, we boarded the skiffs to explore Flor de Castaña forest longing to see more interesting animals. This place is a connection hub for all birds looking for a nesting site! Such as caciques, parakeets, wood peckers and jacanas.
