The Amazon Rainforest is an outstanding place. Everywhere we go, wildlife sightings are unique. In the morning, we visited a rarely explored creek, Iricahua. This place is so special we decided to explore continuously throughout the morning, so breakfast was served in the Grasshopper Cafe! Our group from St. Olaf College enjoyed fruits, sandwiches, and coffee in the middle of the jungle. As we were going back to Delfin II we saw the saki monkeys looking down at as from a branch. This species is recuperating in the wild after a heavy period of hunting for their hairy tails.
In the afternoon our goal was to find the smallest monkey in the world, and we did! The pigmy marmoset jumped from tree to tree in Yanallpa. It rained as the sun was going down but that didn’t stop us, since it is the rainforest after all. In Belluda Caño we got to see a scarlet macaw hiding from the rain.
