We had one of the best days that the western realm of the Galapagos can offer. It all started with whales breaching in the early morning as we navigated one of the most interesting volcanic landscapes of Isabela, while crossing the equator.

After anchoring in a calm sheltered bay, we went for an amazing Zodiac ride where sea lions, penguins, and turtles surrounded our groups along the cliffs. Flightless cormorants and Pacific sunfish kept our cameras going nonstop all morning!

In the afternoon, we had a mesmerizing snorkeling excursion with sea turtles and marine iguanas in their feeding grounds, and right after, we hiked on the youngest island of the archipelago to visit the nesting grounds of the marine iguanas. We had a full show of Fernandina snakes during sunset.
