Diversity was the name of the game today.  We started with hikes up a flower-strewn arroyo on Isla San Marcos. Lizards scurried and butterflies fluttered from flower to flower as we wound our way up the canyon in full appreciation of the shade offered by the Palo Blanco trees. For the afternoon we strolled not through canyons but through the streets of the town of Santa Rosalia. There we munched on fresh baked bread, admired the ingenuity of the erector set of a church and relaxed on the porch of the local hotel with drinks and guacamole appetizers. Altogether a wonderful, relaxing day in the Gulf of California.
