Hikers headed for shore to explore a rugged canyon, while others opted for cruises along the shoreline. Pelicans, sea lions, and sally light foot crabs offered inviting subject matter for photographers, but the highlight was a chance to be surrounded by bottlenose dolphins that raced beside our little boats or caught our bow waves.

After lunch we tied up at the mining town of Santa Rosalía to visit and photograph the metal church, a local bakery, and an historic hotel where we enjoyed margaritas, Mexican beers, and snacks on the veranda overlooking the bay.
