We started the day early by landing on Santiago Island before breakfast for a walk along the beach while other guests went kayaking along the shore. From the kayaks, we saw several fur seals with their young as well as pelicans, brown noddys and blue-footed boobies.
After breakfast, we snorkeled on Buccaneers’ Cove that lies nearby from our first anchorage. In the afternoon, we visited Puerto Egas, an abandoned salt mine. Here we could snorkel from the beach and walk along the shore to see a colony of fur seals at the end of the trail.
Once we returned to the National Geographic Islander, a nice BBQ dinner awaited us on the sun deck, a great finale to another fabulous day in Galapagos.
