Today we had the great opportunity to visit a small local community by the river’s edge called San Francisco. Under the tuff conditions these people live we were surprised on how well adapted they are to live from the river and forest that surrounds them, and how friendly and openly they welcomed us to their homes and lives.

For the afternoon we visited by skiff Clavero Lake. An oxbow lake created, that was formerly the rivers main course, but as the river meanders down to the ocean on these very flat lowlands, it will occasionally create a shortcut, leaving behind a lake that will eventually fill up with sediment.
