We started our day in LeConte Bay with sunshine and icebergs. Using our nimble Zodiacs, we crossed the terminal moraine of the bay and went in search of beauteous ice. Our admiration for water changed slightly in the afternoon as thunder echoed through Petersburg and a light rain started to fall. The day continued to change and before sunset the skies were once again clear. Our activities of biking, hiking, flightseeing and general exploration of Petersburg were filled with discoveries and a justification for packing all that rain gear.
