When the guests aboard National Geographic Sea Bird awoke this morning, they found themselves amongst a group of humpback whales. They were so beautiful. This morning we were at the entrance to LeConte Bay. The LeConte Glacier is the southernmost tidewater glacier in the northern hemisphere. Guests took an inflatable expedition landing craft cruise and had a chance to view the icebergs up close and personal.

We then gathered in the lounge for something warm to drink, mid-morning and listened to two presentations from our photo instructor.

The ship arrived in Petersburg, while we were enjoying a beautiful lunch. Muskeg or bog walks and aerobic hikes were offered on Kuprenaof Island. Walks along the fishing boats dock and photography-focused walks were offered and led by our naturalists. Guest also had the option to explore Petersburg on their own, by walking around town or by bike using maps that were provided.

It was a great a Fourth of July!
