Our morning aboard National Geographic Explorer was spent navigating the beautiful waters of Antarctica’s Neumayer Channel. It’s an historic body of water with dramatic cliff faces and massive icebergs named by Belgian explorers during the Gerlache Expedition.
After a relaxing and fruitful ship cruise around the channel, guests aboard National Geographic Explorer ventured out to admire the shores of Danco Island to enjoy the views and a gentoo penguin colony. For those who would rather not hike the hillside to join the penguins, a Zodiac cruise was offered to observe the multiple seals among the ice around Danco island.
