Today was the first full day in the wonderful Galapagos Islands. Our visit to South Plaza Island early in the morning was amazing. The beautiful colors of red vegetation surrounded by a blue ocean was the perfect backdrop for all the unique animals we were about to discover. Galapagos land iguanas, swallow-tailed gulls, Galapagos baby sea lions nursing, and of course, the bulls barking and protecting their territory were breathtaking.
In the afternoon, we combined snorkeling inside the calm bay of Santa Fe Island with an interesting hike searching for the Santa Fe land iguana. This unique species, at this time of day, is absorbing the last rays of sun before they enter their burrows for the night.
We could not end this fantastic day without celebrating Thanksgiving with a delicious dinner prepared with love in the tradition of our guests!
