Today we left the Caledonian Canal and will spend the rest of our week exploring the open ocean and islands of the Inner Hebrides. The ship moved out of the canal and into Loch Linnhe shortly after breakfast, sailing under increasingly sunny skies to reach our day’s destination at Oban.
Oban is a bustling town of about 8,500 people. Sunshine continued, and we enjoyed walks and exploring the town. One group walked up to McCaig’s Tower, another group headed off towards Dunollie Castle, while others wandered the town on their own. The day was capped off with a whisky tasting, an opportunity to taste and compare a variety of whiskies.
