On our third day of exploration in Costa Rica, we landed in this gorgeous place, a part of heaven on earth know as Casa Orquideas. This unique place is like any other around Golfo Dulce, surrounded by the tropical rainforest of Costa Rica. We walked around the garden of the property learning about the biodiversity of Costa Rica in term of flora, and how important conservation is in this country, as their main income comes from sustainable tourism across different protected areas.
After walking the grounds some guests felt refreshed, while others went swimming, walked on the beach, or enjoyed our stand-up paddleboards. Then we returned to National Geographic Quest, which repositioned into Golfito town, where we had the opportunity to kayak around the mangrove forests and take Zodiac rides. We spotted mantled howler monkeys, white-faced capuchin monkeys, white egrets, bicolored herons, sandwich terns, royal terns, spotted sandpipers, green iguanas, and more.
