There is nothing like exploring the Pacaya River. We went out in our skiffs equipped with binoculars to look for unique wildlife.
One of the iconic species found here is the red howler monkey. They are definitely impressive animals, and we got to see a whole family up in a tree, including a protective alfa male perched on a lower branch. We also saw a snake climbing up a tree with ease, letting us appreciate its vibrant colors. Not to be overshadowed, we learned that you don’t have to be big to make an impression because smaller things like the giraffe frog are unforgettable and hide in plain sight.
