The rain showers held off until late afternoon, which allowed everyone to enjoy the various activities that were offered in Petersburg today.

It was a glorious walk in the muskeg this morning with the sun shining and the birds singing. A curious Sitka black-tailed deer walked onto the boardwalk to take a closer look at the humans visiting her bog.

Walking along the docks the guests met a Dungeness crab fisherman and his 11-year-old son. The boy has been fishing with his dad for the last 7 years and they were getting their gear ready for an 18-day trip offshore.

The bikers peddled the outskirts of town and stopped at Sandy Beach Park for a break and a photo opportunity. There they were able to photograph a totem pole that was newly erected.
