This morning, our Southeast Alaska adventure led us through the stunning Wrangell Narrows to the charming fishing village of Petersburg on Mitkof Island. Guests aboard National Geographic Quest began their day with a delightful breakfast prepared by our exceptional chefs, featuring omelets, chilaquiles, pastries, and fresh fruit.

Under a picturesque backdrop of snow-dusted mountains and intermittent sunshine, guests embarked on various activities. Many chose to join our onboard photographer, Lisa Hornak, for a guided walk, receiving expert tips on capturing the essence of Alaskan fishing life. Others preferred a scenic bike tour around town or an invigorating hike through the Tongass National Rainforest and its unique muskegs.

After a delectable lunch onboard, guests had another opportunity to explore. Local guides led cultural walks, while some enjoyed Zodiac rides in the Wrangell Narrows, spotting wildlife and admiring the town from the water. Others spent their free time exploring and shopping for souvenirs.

The day concluded with a breathtaking spectacle as a humpback whale and her calf swam gracefully alongside the ship. This enchanting encounter was a perfect end to a memorable day, setting the stage for more unexpected adventures as we journey north.
