What a splendid last day in South Georgia. Guests were awoken as the Explorer arrived at her anchorage off Prion Island. After a quick breakfast the first guests were shuttled ashore and were soon summiting the boardwalk to views of the world’s largest seabird, the Wandering Albatross. Whilst others awaited they were treated to spectacular views of waves and waves of Prions feeding on a seemingly abundant copepod.
The ship repositioned into Right Whale Bay where we were greeted by contrasting conditions. The rain and wind didn’t deter the brave guests as they headed ashore for a final fix of South Georgia’s incredible wildlife.
