Our expedition started today with a visit to Punta Espinoza on Fernandina Island. In this remote place, we had the opportunity to see marine iguanas everywhere. These unique animals were on top of the rocks, close to the beach, also walking and swimming. Some of us we had to be careful not to step on them while exploring the Island. They were basking just along the trail. After this amazing hike, we snorkeled in crystal waters surrounded by sea turtles and marine iguanas while they fed on algae at the bottom of the sea.
At lunch, we had a Mexican feast with margaritas and enchiladas. After siesta, we took a Zodiac ride along Punta Vicente Roca. The surprises are endless aboard the National Geographic Endeavour II. Our captain took us across the Equatorial Line and into the northern hemisphere while we celebrated with a wine tasting.
