The guests onboard the National Geographic Quest awoke to a gorgeous sunrise over Desolation Sound. This region of British Columbia, Canada, is full of beautiful inlets and islands. The scenery is stunning, with no end to the reflective possibilities on the flat calm water.
The afternoon took us to Roscoe Bay Provincial Park, a small fjord with a perfect beach to land on for land-based activities. The expedition team released the kayaks, Zodiacs, and paddleboards for those interested in water sports. Many guests took off for a hike back into the Canadian coastal forest, finding trails leading back into the nearby body of water of Black Lake and off further up to the nearest peak.
The dive team grasped the opportunity to explore the underwater world here, plunging to a 60 feet depth. Sea stars, fish, nudibranchs, and sponges dominate the water-bound world here at Roscoe Bay Provincial Park.
