We started our day by docking in Puerto Ayora, where we visited the Charles Darwin Research Station. There we learned about the conservation of Galapagos giant tortoises. Guests had three options for the rest of the morning, including visits to a school, a hydroponic farm, or a traditional sugarcane farm.

After our visits, we traveled to the highlands, where we had lunch. Afterwards, we learned about Santa Cruz giant tortoises at Rancho El Manzanillo. These destinations are sponsored by Lindblad Expeditions and National Geographic.

In the afternoon, we headed back to the port. We had time to shop in Puerto Ayora or return to National Geographic Endeavour II, our home away from home.

At night, local artisans showcased their work in the ship’s Global Gallery.
