Today we visited Santa Cruz Island, the second largest of the Galapagos Archipelago. Our guests explored and learned all about the work that the Charles Darwin Research Station is doing to conserve the Galapagos for the next generations.
During the visit to the town of Puerto Ayora, our guests had the chance to get in touch with the culture of this island, to learn about its identity and the way of life in the archipelago.
In the afternoon, we explored the high area of the island. Here our guests enjoyed observing one of the most iconic species of the Galapagos in its natural environment, the Santa Cruz giant tortoise, Geochelone porter. Our guests enjoyed this special place, taking pictures of the many giant tortoises that were roaming around.
Today we had a wonderful and exciting expedition!
