Today, we visited the northern part of Santa Cruz Island. The second largest island in the Galapagos Archipelago has a lot to offer!

First, we visited Cerro Dragon, known as “Land of Dragons”. We found many Galapagos land iguanas during our walk. The landscape of this visitor site is breathtaking. A brackish water lagoon with American flamingos, white-cheeked pintail ducks, and common stilts. The snorkeling was fantastic; what a place to see colorful and silvery fish.

The afternoon was spent at Borrero Bay. Here, kayakers and Zodiac riders enjoyed the mangrove area. This is a nursery for black-tipped reef sharks and hammerhead sharks; however, today’s surprise was the sight of a female adult tiger shark!

What an incredible day!
