This morning, National Geographic Gemini anchored at Academy Bay on southeast Santa Cruz Island where we visited the National Park Headquarters and Charles Darwin Center to learn the details of our giant tortoise breeding program. After this we had an exploration of Ayora Port.
In the afternoon, we enjoyed the stories of how life was for the pioneers in the highlands of this remote archipelago. We also had the opportunity to walk among the giant tortoises on their migratory route. It was a wonderful day full of exciting activities!
